Mission Statement

The primary mission and purpose of the Dundee Elementary School Media Center is to support the curriculum and to meet the informational and personal interest needs of the students and the instructional and professional needs of the staff.

 

                   

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

The elementary school media center is located on the second floor. There is an extensive and well-developed book collection.  There is also a large collection of nonprint items which includes:  audiocassettes, kits, pictures, and videocassettes.  The media center also receives several magazines and two newspapers.

Computers are available for student and faculty use. Students and staff have access to the following databases:  InfoTrac, Grolier Online, and MEL. Ask the media center paraprofessional or the media specialist for the passwords for home use.

            

 

 

STAFF AND HOURS

 

The staff includes the media center paraprofessional, Sandy Keffer, and the district media specialist, Anne Oxenrider. Mrs. Keffer is available throughout the day.  Miss O is available for one to two hours in the afternoon when the Kindergarten classes and the Young Fives are scheduled to use the media center.  She will be available at other times as needed by the staff.

The hours are:  8:15 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday.

 

 

CIRCULATION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES  

 

Books may be checked out for one week.  They may be renewed. No fines are assessed, but a student must pay for an item that he/she has lost.
