| The primary mission and purpose of the Dundee High School Media Center is to support the curriculum and to meet the informational and personal interest needs of the students and the instructional and professional needs of the staff. |

GENERAL INFORMATION
The high school media center is centrally located at the southeast wing of the school. It houses approximately 11,730 books and over 600 nonprint items. The nonprint items include: videotapes, CDs, DVDs, and slides. The media center also receives several magazines and newspapers.
Audiovisual equipment, including TVs, VCR/DVD players, digital cameras, overhead projectors, slide projectors, tape recorders, boomboxes, and an LCD projector are available for checkout.
Computers are available for student and faculty use. Access to the following databases are available: Infotrac, Grolier Online, MEL, and CareerCruising. Ask Miss O or Mrs. Schofield for the passwords for home use.
The Distance Learning Lab (DLL) is located next to the media center. Computers are available for student and faculty use. Miss O and Mrs. Schofield are in charge of scheduling and monitoring the lab. A teacher's station and an LCD Projector are available for instructional use.
A conference room for faculty and student use is also available. It includes seating for ten, a whiteboard, a data port for a laptop computer, and an LCD projection system.
STAFF AND HOURS
The staff includes a full-time media specialist (Miss O) and a full-time paraprofessional (Mrs. Schofield). They are here to help you. Never be afraid to ask for assistance.
The hours are: 8:00 AM to 4 PM Monday through Thursday (unless Miss O has other plans), and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Friday.
CIRCULATION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Books may be checked out for two weeks. These items may be renewed. Magazines may be checked out at the discretion of the staff. No fines are assessed, but the student must pay for an item that he/she has lost.
