Course Name: Biology 1-B
Teacher: Mr. Hasley
Expected Outcome: Students will be introduced to the concepts of: Evolution, Classification, Microorganisms, Ecology, Structure and Function of different vertebrates and invertebrates, Plant structure and function*            *(as time allows)
Student Responsibilities: Students are responsible for being prepared for class and in their seats when the bell rings. They should actively participate in class discussions and be able to work independently and also in small group situations. Students are also expected to enhance a “mutual respect” atmosphere in the classroom at all times.
Method of Computing Grades:
Quizzes                                   10%
Notebooks                               20%
Tests                                       30%
Homework   /Lab                      40%
Grading Scale: School grading policy will be used
Assignments/Class Work: All assignments (anything and everything the student is responsible for) will be posted in the front of the classroom by date assigned. If a student is absent or will be absent, it is their responsibility to copy down the assignments and complete them. Handouts and worksheets will be located in labeled folders in the front of the classroom. In the event that the classroom is locked after school hours, the student or student’s legal guardian may find a custodian or administrator to let them in to copy assignments.
