 Mrs. Schott Minimize

In my tenth year of teaching at Dundee High School, I am, relatively speaking, an older, newer teacher.  I grew up in Tecumseh, graduating in 1968.  I attended Adrian College where I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and my Michigan teaching certification.  I married my husband, John, in 1972 and we have five children between the ages of 34 and 19.  I was a stay-at-home mom until the fall of 2000 when I began teaching at Dundee High School.

I enjoy teaching, as I waited a long time to accomplish this goal.  I also enjoy reading, swimming, handicrafts, and most of all, spending time with my family, including our two granddaughters and grandson.

 Attention Parents of Seniors! Minimize

Parents or Guardians of English 12-B Students:

Your son or daughter is beginning his or her last trimester of English 12 at Dundee High School.  As a requirement for passing this class, he or she will be expected to complete a culminating project, affectionately known as the "senior project."  This is a sizeable and time-consuming project that will take the bulk of the trimester to complete.

I have provided explicit instructions to your son or daughter and have posted them on my webpage on how this project is to be completed.  Please take this opportunity to look over the information so you will be aware of what will be required.

I will be giving the students numerous opportunities to use the library and its computers to work on this project, but we will be spending the rest of our class time on other literature and writing.  They will be responsible for pacing themselves to be able to complete the project on time, as it will be impossible to turn in late projects.

In addition to asking them to use the English skills they have accumulated in their years of school, this is also a good preparation for meeting the demands of the college or work world into which they will be going.

As a parent, I know you understand the importance of preparing young people to be successful, so I hope you will encourage and support them as they work to do their best.

If you have any questions about the project or your student, please feel free to call me at 734-529-7008, ext. 3302, or e-mail me at sschott@dundee.k12.mi.us.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Schott
