 Mrs. Rice Minimize

Ms. Rice
“Teaching is a commitment to instill knowledge in the minds and hearts of all students. It is so much more than just a job. It requires a love of humanity, a belief in the human spirit, a dedication to excellence, and a resolve to make a difference in the lives of others. It is the foundation upon which all forms of progress are based. Those who were destined to teach, spend their lifetimes investing in the dreams of their students, and in so doing, their own dream invariably comes true. To enlighten, to awaken, to inspire all of those whose lives they touch…this is their dream! –Genie Graveline

A little bit about me... I reside in Toledo, Ohio, where I was born and raised. Most of my family and friends live there or in the Bedford/Temperance area. I graduated from Whitmer High School studying college preparatory with honors in 2000, received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Toledo in the field of Education in 2005, and my Masters Degree from Concordia University in Educational Leadership in the area of Curriculum and Instruction in 2009.  I am an intervention specialist/teacher here working for the beautiful Dundee Community School District. I LOVE MY JOB, by the way. When you see me at school, you’ll notice the ever-present smile on my face. The students and staff here are wonderful and full of spirit. The people I work with are not simply colleagues, but friends. My students are my purpose and their success is my focus. I currently team-teach 12th grade English with Mr. Haselschwerdt , ACT prep with rotating teachers, Finance with Mr. Daniels, and teach Guided Academics in my classroom.
You may contact me via email at emily.rice@dundee.k12.mi.us or by telephone at (734) 529-7008 ext. 3405. May you enjoy all of your days!
