* Weekly Reading Practice Requirements
Students should read for a minimum of 30 minutes seven days a week at home. Students will now be required to complete a READING LOG in attention to their 16 summary sentences a week.
In order to improve your reading skills, you must practice reading. You will be required to read 40 pages every Monday- Thursday and 40 additional pages every weekend. To keep you accountable for this reading I am requiring that you write one sentence summarizing every five pages you read. Your sentences must have capitalization, punctuation, and be recorded on the Reading Log I provide. If you start a new book, you must record it on a new sheet. On Monday mornings I will be checking that you have read 40 pages over the weekend and recorded eight sentences. I will check again on Friday morning. Extra Credit will be issued for recorded reading above and beyond the basic requirements.
