Thursday, 2/2-  Library 9:00 - 9: 30 Students will have silent reading time between 9:00 - 9:20.  During library the students are required to check out books within there accessed reading Range.  This is very important.  I do not want a child reading independently out of this range.  Students will meet with me and sign up to read the book they have chosen that is within their reading range.  This is the book the child must read for their nightly reading calendar.  This is also the book base their Weekend Writing Response on.  A child may only stop reading a book if first they discuss the reason with me and together we decide the book is not in their best interest to continue with. (R.MT.05.01, R.MR.05.02, R.WS. 05.06, R.WS.05.05, R.WS.05.03)

Students should read "A Pioneer Girl" at home independantly.

Friday, 2/3- Quiz over "A Pioneer Girl".

*Some Fridays, students will be given their Weekend Writing Response folders (WWR).  Instructions are included in these folders.  Basically, students are to choose 1 question and write a 2 paragraph well thought out response to the question based on the book they have been reading each evening.  These books have been signed out with me and are in the students Independent Reading Range.  A parent must sign the WWR stating that they have read their child's response.  I will also respond.  Over the year we will be able to watch our writing responses develop.
