Welcome to Dundee Elementary School
Dundee Elementary was built in 1950 and also encompasses the former high school, which was built in 1929. An addition was built in 2024 to add eleven additional classrooms, expand our cafeteria, and create elementary school parking to support our expanding population.
In total, Dundee Elementary houses nearly 750 students in preschool through fourth grade. Although our school's population has grown, the atmosphere at DES is still that of a small town. Our staff is supportive and caring, and we all look out for one another. We are all "rowing the boat" together with the same purpose: student learning and success.
Historically, DES has ranked above both state and county average scores on our statewide standardized tests, but we don't settle for "good enough." Our staff continues to learn and grow to improve our instruction and our available materials so that we can ensure that we are offering a top-notch educational environment for our Vikings.
Points of Pride:
Robust building-wide PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) Program where we ROW Like Vikings: Respect, Ownership, Wise Choices
We teach skills for social and emotional maturity to equip students with essential emotional awareness, self-regulation and resilience strategies
We utilize up-to-date curriculum and materials for our core subject areas
We offer intervention for students in need of additional support in reading and math, and we guide our instruction by being informed by student data
DES has a very involved PTO who support our staff and provides many fun opportunities for students
Our staff focuses on family engagement opportunities because we understand that a student's family is a very important piece of the educational puzzle
If you'd like to learn more about Dundee Elementary School and what we have to offer, please reach out to me at any time. Go Vikings!
