Congratulations to our DES students whose work was honored at the Region Three Art Show on Friday! They represented our school with pride through their talents. Thank you to Mrs. DeMint for leading them well!

The water main has been repaired as of Monday, March 3, at 3 am, and we will return to school on Tuesday, March 4. Water fountains will be out of service until the boil alert is lifted, which we anticipate will happen by Thursday, March 6. The district will provide bottled water for students and staff until it is safe to use the water fountains. Hand sanitizer will be available in all restrooms and classrooms. Anyone who washes their hands with soap and water should also use hand sanitizer afterward until the boil alert is lifted.

We had a packed house tonight at 2nd grade's Family Math Game Night! Thanks to all who attended!

Our kitchen staff added a second lunch line to shorten the amount of time students spend in line! Students have done a great job adjusting to the new process. Thanks to our kitchen staff for their hard work and creativity to make this happen!

Ms. E's 1st graders made pink snow ice cream for a Valentine treat! 🍦

Did you know that our teachers are learners too? Our teachers are constantly building their own capacity and refining their craft through continuous professional growth. These teachers are focused on Cognitively Guided Instruction in math with our ISD consultants.

Did you know that every new teacher is assigned a mentor teacher for his or her first three years in education? We have some of the BEST mentors for our new teachers here at DES! They meet regularly to discuss important topics and support one another. This is how we continue to grow our profession! Go Vikings!

Check out this awesome work that 4th graders in Mrs. Marion & Mrs. England's classes did this week! They are learning about the history of Vikings and comparing that to what we expect of our DES Vikings.

Students enjoyed creating stained glass replicas in Mrs. Mareks science class this week

Congratulations to our weekly cafeteria Viking winner! Thanks to Hungry Howie's for providing pizza coupons for our students!

Good luck to all of our Viking wrestlers this weekend! Thanks to Coach Hall for organizing the send off to State!

Thanks for the support of our former Viking, Lane Holcomb, today at our Wear Green for Lane Day! We raised just under $500 and will donate that to his family through the fundraiser at his new school. #VikingPride
