Summer Food Announcement

Dear Dundee Families,

We are reaching out to inform you that Dundee Community Schools will not be offering a Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) this year. This is due to our district’s current percentage of students eligible for free and reduced-price meals falling below the threshold required by the USDA to qualify for the program.

We understand how important access to nutritious meals is for our students, especially during the summer months when school is not in session. While we are unable to host a meal site this year, there are several nearby locations offering free summer meals to children and teens aged 18 and under:

  • Ellis Library:
    June 16 – July 24, Monday–Thursday
    Meal Time: 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM
Note: Meals must be eaten on site.

  • Monroe Community College:
    June 20 – September 1
Meal Time: Thursdays at 3:00 PM
    Note: 5-day meal pick-up available.

  • Monroe Family YMCA:
    June 16 – August 22
    Breakfast: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM
    Lunch: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Note: Meals must be eaten on site.

If you need more information about these sites, please call the Monroe County ISD, 734-241-2606.

For further assistance in locating a summer meal site near you, visit the Michigan Department of Education’s SFSP locator at:  https://www.mcgi.state.mi.us/schoolnutrition/

Thank you for your understanding, and we wish all our students and families a safe, healthy, and happy summer.

Sincerely,

Scott Leach

Superintendent
