Moana is official! 💙🐾💙

Dundee Community Schools pauses to reflect on the tragedy of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on our nation. 25 years ago, 2,977 innocent lives were lost. Today, we honor the families of those affected and express our deepest gratitude to the brave firefighters, police officers, medical workers, and military members who ran toward danger and continue to serve.

Moana has been making her way into more and more classrooms to practice appropriate behavior. She's learning so much and students are doing a great job of modeling calm bodies for her. She's still in stage one (no petting) but is able to spend more time out of the office! 🐾🐾

Mrs. Cheney organized a time for some of our 4th grade student leaders to learn proper flag protocol from a local veteran. This is going to be a new responsibility for our 4th graders this year! 🇺🇸

We had a great first day with Adventure yesterday at Riverside Academy!

Did you know that we have truly amazing veteran teachers in our building like Mrs. Sampson who has taught for over 30 years?! Teachers like her share their wisdom with our new teachers by modeling lessons in their classrooms. We 💙 learning from each other!

Ms. Carek's Y5 friends enjoyed learning about their new centers during indoor recess this afternoon 🌧️🌧️

Moana was able to join our teachers for their first round of PLC meetings! She is learning how to hang with us for periods of time and she's doing so well! 💙

Young fivers and kindergartners were so excited to have their fourth grade breakfast buddies join them this morning! 💙

The young fives and kindergarten students have settled in and are practicing learning all of their routines and expectations! Did you know how much our teachers practice routines during the first weeks of school? This sets students up for a predictable environment where they know what is expected all year long. Check out the list of all the things they are going to learn to do in addition to all of the fun academic stuff!
