
Young Five & Kindergarten Round Up is in action this morning at DES!









This morning our preschool classes participated in the Pinwheels for Prevention Ceremony in conjunction with the CAN Council of Monroe County.






DCS is currently partnering with ATAP to conduct a district safety assessment. Your input is a valuable part of this process. Information gathered through the brief survey linked below will be used in the planning to make safety improvements across the district.

If you see an ambulance at the elementary school/middle school this morning, please know that everything is okay. We have been in contact with the family of a student that experienced a medical emergency.
The students are in a soft lockdown until the student is safely transported from the building.

Thank you to our NHS members for putting on another successful Viking Camp for our DES students!


Today was the end of the third marking period and the students at DES earned a schoolwide reward for filling the Viking VAT with ROW tickets this quarter! Students enjoyed root beer floats as a treat before they went home.









Twin Day at DES











We were so excited to have families join us for our first session of our six week Play and Learn series! Children ages 2-4 and their caregivers participated in fun learning activities, songs, stories and play! Thank you to Mrs. Jacki Bearden, Mrs. Heather Hovey, and Ms. Karen Jennings for doing such a wonderful job facilitating our group.
